ARC-GA is owned and managed by its professional staff of actuaries, allowing us to best serve our clients objectively and independently.

All of ARC-GA’s professional staff gained experience with insurance companies and large international consulting firms prior to joining ARC-GA. Market leading software and state-of-the-art computer equipment are used to further leverage the actuarial skills of ARC-GA’s staff. This combination of experience and resources positions ARC-GA as a full service consulting firm, capable of providing nearly all of the mainline services required by the life and health insurance industry. ARC-GA’s actuaries work together in a synergistic manner to provide their clients with the highest quality professional services.

John Condo has been a Vice President in the Atlanta office since 1999. He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Sciences in Applied Mathematics and received his Doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee.

John worked for 2 years in pension consulting before moving on to Ball State University where he taught Mathematics and Actuarial Science Classes. After teaching, he worked in the Investment Products Unit of Canada Life Assurance, handling both fixed and variable annuities.

John became a member of the American Academy of Actuaries in 1998 and obtained his FSA designation in 2000. Since joining Actuarial Resources, he has gained extensive experience in product development, asset adequacy analysis, pricing, reserving, market conduct exams and state audits.

John lives in Dunwoody, Georgia, with his wife, April.

Bob Crompton re-joined Actuarial Resources Corporation of Georgia in 2015 as Vice President in the Atlanta office. This is Bob’s second stint at ARC-GA. He was previously with ARC-GA from 2001 to 2011.

Bob has over 30 years of actuarial experience and has worked in product pricing, valuation, financial statement audits and consulting in areas that include M&A, stochastic models and Section 529 prepaid tuition plans. Bob currently consults in the areas of model risk management, internal audit and product development/pricing.

Bob is a graduate of Harding University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics (1978, summa cum laude). He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (1984) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (1982).

Bob and his wife Julie live in Woodstock, Georgia. They enjoy martial arts and hiking. In addition, Bob is also a competitive power lifter – but not a very good one.

John MacBain is former Chairman of Actuarial Resources Corporation of Georgia. He consults in the areas of life, health and annuity product development, financial reporting, reinsurance, regulatory consulting, litigation support, marketing and compliance practices. John is a BSc (Hon.) graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He also performs consulting activities for numerous state insurance departments and the NAIC.

John has served as President of the Southeastern Actuaries Conference, the Baltimore Actuaries Club and Baltimore Junior Association of Commerce. He is a past member of the American Academy of Actuaries Life Practice Council and past chair of the Academy Nonforfeiture Modernization Work Group. He is the author of Product Development articles for Best’s Review, Life and Health Edition, and has been a speaker and workshop leader on actuarial and compliance issues at various industry organization meetings.

John and his wife, Alana have a daughter, Megan, and reside in Clearwater, Florida, where he enjoys golfing year round.

Lorne Schinbein joined Actuarial Resources Corporation of Georgia in 2014 as Vice President and now manages the Tampa Bay office. He consults in the areas of product development, compliance practices and valuation including Principle Based Reserves (PBR).

Lorne has held varying actuarial roles at several companies, those companies being Canada Life, Prudential of England and ManuLife Financial. Most recently, Lorne’s career has been with Transamerica Life Insurance Company in St. Petersburg FL where, among several roles over his 22 years, he served as VP & Managing Actuary with responsibility over a talented staff involved in all aspects of insurance product development, namely product design, pricing, policy form filings (including New York), SEC filings, policy illustrations and administration system strategy.

Lorne is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, Ontario, with a Bachelor of Mathematics (Honors Cooperative Program). He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (1991) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (1993). Lorne is the past chair of the Society of Actuaries Education Executive Committee.

Lorne and his wife Donna, reside in Dunedin, Florida where they enjoy biking, boating and camping. He has three children, Kevin, Robinne and Molly.

Shawn Parks joined Actuarial Resources Corporation of Georgia in 2010 as Vice President of the South Carolina office and was elected president of the firm in 2016. He consults in the areas of product development, financial reporting, reinsurance and regulatory compliance for life, long-term care, medical, and accident & health products.

Shawn began his career with First Colony Life/Genworth Financial in Lynchburg, VA. Over those 17 years, he worked his way up to VP & Chief Product Development Actuary, managing a staff of 10 and involved in all aspects of life and annuity products, including pricing, marketing, policy form filing, rate increases, valuation, and statutory reporting. He then spent 3 years as VP & Actuary with Kanawha Ins Co/Humana in Lancaster, SC, where he managed the pricing, filing and inforce monitoring of worksite voluntary benefit products.

Shawn is a Past-President of the Southeastern Actuaries Conference (SEAC - 2013-14), and has served on an actuarial exam committee for the Society of Actuaries, the Nonforfeiture Modernization Work Group of the American Academy of Actuaries, and is currently serving on the Long-Term Care Practice Note Working Group. He has been a speaker and workshop leader on actuarial and regulatory issues at SEAC meetings. He is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Shawn and his wife, Joy, reside in Great Falls, SC, where they are active in their church and enjoy relaxing on the porch and activities on the lake. They have two children, Allison and Ryan, a son-in-law, Adam, and absolutely adore their new granddaughter, Laken.

Cande Olsen joined Actuarial Resources Corporation of Georgia as a Vice President of the New Jersey Office in 2007. She consults on individual life, annuity and long-term care regulatory actuarial and compliance issues. Cande graduated in 1972 from Williams College with a BA in Mathematics. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Chartered Life Underwriter. Before joining Actuarial Resources Corporation of Georgia, Cande was with New York Life Insurance Company, where she held a wide variety of actuarial positions, most recently in the government relations area.

During her career, Cande has been very involved in Academy volunteer work, recently completing her term as Vice President of the Life Practice Council and a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to that, she was Chair of the Life Products Committee, Chair of the Volunteer Resource Committee, Chair of the Young Actuaries Committee and a member of the Council on Professionalism. She is currently a member of the Actuarial Standards Board.

Cande lives in Morristown, New Jersey, where she spends her free time training for and competing in running races and triathlons at the national and international level.
